KCZoo Hoots & Howls

Hoots & Howls

Join us for some not-so-spooky fun at Hoots & Howls on Saturday, October 5 and Sunday, October 6. We are kicking off fall with entertainment and activities for all ages. See the sights on a hay ride, ride a pedal tractor, navigate a hay bale maze and have your face painted like your favorite animal. Shake your "ghoul thing" at the Monster Mash Bash and visit the Tatzoo Parlor.  The Slitherin' Snake Shed and the Felton Skeleton are a haunting good time. Have your picture taken with a costumed character. Our animals are joining in the fun by smashing pumpkins.
Hoots & Howls is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. this weekend, October 5 & 6 and next weekend, October 12 & 13.  It's a spooktacular time for the whole family.

  Run for the Penguins

Run, don't waddle for the penguins! Put on your running shoes and head out to the Zoo on Saturday, October 5 for the 10th annual Zoo Run. This year we are raising money for penguin conservation.
The 4 mile walk/run begins at 8:30 a.m. and the 1 mile family fun walk/run begins at 9:45 a.m. There is still time to register.

Does Your Dinner Protect Penguins?

Find out how to choose and prepare sustainable seafood dishes while enjoying a delicious meal prepared by chefs from McGonigles Market. On Tuesday, October 8 at 6 p.m. you can enjoy an adult only evening with delicious dinner and drinks while two chefs create sensational sustainable foods and show you how cooking with sustainable seafood helps the conservation of animals such as sea lions and penguins.
Tickets are still available. Contact for more information.

Safari Day Camps

When the kids are out of school and you have to work, let them spend a day filled with fun and learning at the Zoo! Our Safari Day Camp is fast paced and full of hands-on Zoo-fun. The one day camp starts at 8:30 a.m. and goes to 3:30 p.m. with after care available.

Safari Day Camp is offered three dates in October. On Friday, October 11 the theme will be Amazing Adaptation. On Thursday, October 24 you will learn about animal nightlife and nocturnal creatures. On October 25 you are bugging out and discovering creepy crawlies.
