NoRTH RESTAURANT BRINGS CREATIVE NEW OPTIONS TO MODERN ITALIAN MENU
LEAWOOD, Kan. – Classic recipes with a modern twist has been the standard for NoRTH restaurant’s menu and now the three-year-old Leawood restaurant is offering a variety of new items that use imaginative combinations featuring timeless Italian ingredients.
Take the restaurant’s new Bucatini for example. NoRTH chefs designed an innovative recipe using the restaurant’s wildly popular Braised Short Rib to create a pasta dish adding the tender meat from the Braised Short Rib to pasta, baby tomatoes, roasted peppers and garlic ($17). The new pasta entrée is just one of the new pasta menu options. Others include: Chitarra with butternut squash, Brussels Sprouts and hazelnut brown butter ($15) and Strozzapreti with chicken, mushrooms, spinach, toasted pine nuts in a light parmesan cream ($19).
“We use our guest’s response to our menu to generate innovative new creations. We’ve tweaked a few items on the menu to align with their feedback and have developed inventive new items based on special requests and favorites among our guests,” said John Hildenbrand, general manager of NoRTH.
Other new entrée items include a Grilled Ahi with cauliflower puree, spinach, lemon and olive oil tapenade ($24); a hearty Sea Bass served with beluga lentil ragout and pancetta braised greens ($26); Peasant Shrimp with Borlotti beans, tomato and Swiss chard ($21); and a Kansas City favorite, the Fire Roasted NY Steak with crisp potatoes and caramelized cipollini ($29).
NoRTH guests will enjoy a new soup option, Italian Wedding Soup with spicy sausage and Pecorino Romano ($8). The Truffle Polenta & Mushroom Ragout is an excellent antipasti item to share ($9). A new pizza combination debuted this winter as well. It’s the Picante Salami, Roasted Peppers and Crimini Mushrooms ($13).
The new menu was introduced in late November 2010. Entrée specials are offered nightly including fish, chicken and beef options.
NoRTH is located in the One Nineteen shopping center on the southeast corner of 119th and Roe (4579 West 119th Street, Leawood, Kansas 66209). The restaurant is open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Reservations are available any time and the outdoor patio is open, weather permitting, for lunch, dinner and special occasion use.
