SECOND ANNUAL “SECRET SANTA SIP N’ CRAWL” ENCOURAGES TOY DONATIONS FOR LOCAL CHILDREN DURING THE HOLIDAYS
Six KC Live! venues participate in fundraiser for The Marine’s Toys-for-Tots
The holiday season is here and with it, comes the second annual Secret Santa Sip N’ Crawl at KC Live! in the Kansas City Power & Light District. The annual pub crawl encourages participants to donate toys for local children and come downtown for a festive night of fun.
Participants will check in at McFadden’s Sports Saloon, located at 1330 Grand Blv, and drop off their new and unwrapped toys with U.S. Marines, who will be at the event collecting the toys for Toys-For-Tots. The first 200 registrants will receive a free event t-shirt.
Once registered, participants will visit each of the participating restaurants and bars for great drink specials, festivities and to get their Secret Santa card stamped. Participating KC Live! venues include: McFadden’s Sports Saloon, Pizza Bar, Tengo Sed Cantina, Maker’s Mark, PBR Big Sky and Shark Bar. Participants who get their Secret Santa card stamped at the six participating venues and donate a toy may qualify to win prizes.
Prizes will be drawn at 10:30 p.m. at McFadden’s. The grand prize is $500 in cash and a $500 Power & Light District gift card, good at any of the Kansas City Power & Light District merchants and restaurants. The second place prize is a snowboard. Participants are also encouraged to dress in their best Santa costume and be entered to win a $100 cash prize for “Best Santa Costume.”
The first annual Secret Santa Sip N Crawl was held December 11, 2009. The KC Live! event raised more than $500 in cash donations and more than 150 toys for local children of the U.S. Marines Toys For Tots program.
