To celebrate The Melting Pot of Kansas City’s grand reopening

The Melting Pot of Kansas City, a fondue restaurant , will host a grand reopening celebration from Aug. 8-14, offering special events as the restaurant celebrates its 10-year anniversary in Kansas City. The Melting Pot of Kansas City, under the direction of new owners Matt and Ruby Soik and new chef Joe Walker, will unveil new features, including updates of the restaurant’s interior décor, new TV’s in the lounge area, an audiovisual system for private parties and the addition of a signature chocolate dipped strawberry program. From Aug. 8-14, The Melting Pot of Kansas City will hold a weeklong Fondue-raiser for Children’s Mercy Hospital (http://www.childrensmercy.org) and host the following special events: • Monday, Aug. 8 – Grand Ladies’ Night, Corinth Elementary School Book Drive- Bring in two gently loved books and drop off at the front desk. Summer is officially here, and what better way to celebrate than to enjoy one of Fogo de Chão’s new refreshing cocktails, the Grand Mango Batida, Cool Coconut Batida and Tarragon Pineapple Tini. All made with fresh fruit, these cocktails are sure to get you ready for the summer season. In celebration of Fogo’s recent opening in Rio de Janeiro, the restaurant is featuring two batidas, the most famous blended frozen drink served in Brazil. Lonnie McFadden was born to entertain. At age 6, he and his brother Ronald gave their first public performance - tapping, singing, playing the piano and doing comedy bits. Lonnie simply wows audiences with his versatility as a dancer, song writer and arranger, singer and trumpet player. He's performed at festivals in the U.S., Europe and Japan with the likes of jazz greats such as Miles Davis and Wynton Marsalis. Well known to local audiences, he has also attracted attention beyond his hometown while performing with Wayne Newton and on national TV.
