REEL BIG FISH TO HEADLINE 5TH ANNUAL ST. PATRICK’S DAY FESTIVAL

The fifth annual “Shamrocks & Shenanigans” St. Patrick’s Day Festival will feature ‘90s band REEL BIG FISH on Saturday, March 17, 2012, at KC Live! in the Kansas City Power & Light District. The all-day festival is free to attend and open to the public ages 21+.

The day-long party begins with a ‘Breakfast of Champions’ at McFadden’s Sports Saloon (opening at 8 a.m.) and an Irish Breakfast with live music by Eddie Delahunt at The Dubliner, from 9 a.m. to noon. The festivities continue with live music and deejay entertainment on the KC Live! Stage beginning at 1 p.m. The lineup includes The Patrick Lentz Band, Dolewite and Noe Palma. Reel Big Fish headlines the festivities with an 8 p.m. show. Best known for hits like “Sell Out” and “Take On Me,” Reel Big Fish edged into the mainstream following the mid-’90s success of No Doubt and Sublime. The band was distinguished by their hyperkinetic stage shows, juvenile humor, ironic covers of new wave pop songs and metallic shards of ska (http://www.reel-big-fish.com/).

In addition to the festivities at KC Live! and early morning breakfasts, McFadden’s Sports Saloon and the newly opened Dubliner Irish Pub will keep the party going all-day and all-night. McFadden’s will feature St. Paddy’s Day contests, games, giveaways and deejay entertainment. The Dubliner’s live music line up will include local U2 cover band The Shanks at 1 p.m., The Patrick Lentz Band at 6 p.m. and DJ Steve Serrano from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.
