To celebrate The Melting Pot of Kansas City’s grand reopening

The Melting Pot of Kansas City, a fondue restaurant, will host a grand reopening celebration from Aug. 8-14, offering special events as the restaurant celebrates its 10-year anniversary in Kansas City.
The Melting Pot of Kansas City, under the direction of new owners Matt and Ruby Soik and new chef Joe Walker, will unveil new features, including updates of the restaurant’s interior décor, new TV’s in the lounge area, an audiovisual system for private parties and the addition of a signature chocolate dipped strawberry program.
From Aug. 8-14, The Melting Pot of Kansas City will hold a weeklong Fondue-raiser for Children’s Mercy Hospital (http://www.childrensmercy.org) and host the following special events:
• Monday, Aug. 8 – Grand Ladies’ Night, Corinth Elementary School Book Drive- Bring in two gently loved books and drop off at the front desk. We will give you a ticket to pick out one book you would like to take home! All remaining books will be sold and money donated to Corinth Elementary School. We will offer the usual special of cheese, salad, and chocolate for $16 per person. Add a petite entree for only $8 more! Fantastic drink specials as well.
• Wednesday, Aug 10 – VIP event, by invitation only 5-8pm
• Tuesday, August 9th and Thursday, Aug. 11 – Children’s Mercy Hospital Fondue-raiser in the restaurant, Children’s Mercy night, $1.00 from every entrée ordered will be donated by The Melting Pot, 4-10pm
• Week long fundraiser for Children’s Mercy Hospitals and Clinics featuring a
Grand Re-Opening Special $39.00 per person four course fondue meal with lobster and filet mignon.
Donate $5.00 or more to CMH and receive a three pack of chocolate dipped strawberries from Melting Pot

Fogo de Chão Introduces Three New Cocktails

Summer is officially here, and what better way to celebrate than to enjoy one of Fogo de Chão’s new refreshing cocktails, the Grand Mango Batida, Cool Coconut Batida and Tarragon Pineapple Tini. All made with fresh fruit, these cocktails are sure to get you ready for the summer season. In celebration of Fogo’s recent opening in Rio de Janeiro, the restaurant is featuring two batidas, the most famous blended frozen drink served in Brazil. The batida is known as the summer drink that people look forward to it all year to enjoy on the beaches of Brazil. With your cocktail, you can also enjoy Fogo’s 15 cuts of fire-roasted meat, sliced and served tableside by traditional Gaucho chefs, as well as Fogo de Chão’s gourmet salad and sides bar with over 30 items to choose from, including fresh vegetables, imported cheeses, smoked salmon, artisan breads, Brazilian hearts of palm and sundried tomatoes.







Grand Mango Batida
1 ½ oz. Ypioca Prata Cachaca
½ oz. Grand Marnier
1 oz. Fresh mango
1 ½ oz. Monin Mango Puree
1 ½ oz. Sweetened condensed milk
Garnish with a mango cube and mint sprig.







Cool Coconut Batida
1 oz. Ciroc Coconut Vodka
½ oz. Crème de cacao
1 oz. Ypioca Prata Cachaca
1 oz. Cream of coconut
1 1/3 oz. Sweetened condensed milk
Rim glass with coconut shavings and
garnish with a strawberry and mint sprig.


















Tarragon Pineapple Tini
2 oz. Patron Reposado Tequila
2 oz. Tarragon sprigs
3 oz. Pineapple juice
1 oz. Fresh cubed pineapple
½ oz. Bar syrup or sugar
1 Lime squeezed
Garnish with a pineapple wedge and
tarragon sprig.

Lonnie McFadden a KC performing icon



Lonnie McFadden was born to entertain. At age 6, he and his brother Ronald gave their first public performance - tapping, singing, playing the piano and doing comedy bits. Lonnie simply wows audiences with his versatility as a dancer, song writer and arranger, singer and trumpet player. He's performed at festivals in the U.S., Europe and Japan with the likes of jazz greats such as Miles Davis and Wynton Marsalis.



Well known to local audiences, he has also attracted attention beyond his hometown while performing with Wayne Newton and on national TV. Catch him at Chaz with the Lonnie McFadden Duo Tuesdays July 12, 19 & 26.
