Marker's Mark

We chose to dine outside fairly early on a weekday evening. The fire-pit coffee tables and lounge seating on the patio were a nice touch, as is the view into the restaurant from the patio. The atmosphere was a bit wanting, again it was our choice, but the big screen at KC Live was right there blaring adds and it took away from some of the intimacy the patio would create.

The food was amazing, my boyfriend had the Duck - Two Ways, the first time he had tried duck, and he loved it. I had Salmon and was just as impressed, the portions were exactly right, though the price point was a bit high, we were expecting that from a restaurant like Maker's Mark.
The service was good, the staff conducted themselves professionally in front of all the guests. The host seemed confused as to were to put us in a fairly empty restaurant, until we decided to sit on the patio. Our server was attentive and did not pressure us to order or to pay, which was nice.
We would go back, and have reccommended Makers Mark to many of our friends venturing down to the Power&Light district, especially for the first time, it is virtually the only grown up place situated in the center of KC Live.
